The 18th edition of the Iguazu Falls Half Marathon will take place on May 15 and 16, 2027, in the city of Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná. More than 5,000 runners participated in the 17th edition in May 2026, representing 11 countries.
The 18th edition of the Iguazu Falls Half Marathon will be held on the weekend of May 15-16, 2027, in the city of Foz do Iguaçu (PR). The event, organized by the concessionaire Urbia+Cataratas, already held its 17th edition in May 2026, with over 5,000 runners from 11 countries and various regions of Brazil.
In addition to the 21-km half marathon, the organizers confirmed the continuation of the Onça Challenge and the Home Yard category. The Onça Challenge, launched in 2026, consists of two races on consecutive days: a 10.5-km run on Saturday and the half marathon on Sunday, totaling 31.5 km within the conservation unit. The Home Yard category recognizes the best times recorded by residents of municipalities neighboring Iguazu National Park.
Details about registration batches, deadlines, rules, and the official schedule will be released soon. The organization recommends athletes follow updates on the race’s Instagram account, @meiadascataratas, and the official website: meiamaratona.cataratasdoiguacu.com.br.
Iguazu National Park, administered by the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio) and managed by Urbia+Cataratas, is a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site and an international reference for sustainable tourism.
