Ciudad del Este Black Friday 2026 runs from November 19 to 22. There is no direct bridge from Puerto Iguazú: Argentines cross to Foz over the Tancredo Neves Bridge and then into Paraguay over the Friendship Bridge. Back in Argentina, the land allowance is US$300 a month, and anything above it pays 50%.
ler o guia →After shopping, Ciudad del Este is worth an afternoon at Lago de la República, the El Mensú Museum and the Parque Lineal, with Monday Falls and Itaipu's Paraguayan side a few kilometers away. San Blas Cathedral is still under repair, and the Paraná riverfront calls for caution during the flood.
ler o guia →Foz do Iguaçu has two large malls: Cataratas JL Shopping in downtown (Av. Costa e Silva) and Shopping Catuaí Palladium on Av. das Cataratas (Vila Yolanda). Both feature fashion stores, a food court, a cinema and a kids' area. There is also the smaller Mercosul Shopping and Avenida Brasil, an outdoor commercial street in downtown.

In Paraguay (Ciudad del Este), use 911 (National Police), 132 (Volunteer Firefighters) and 134 (medical emergency/SEME). The numbers change when you cross the bridge.

What is worth buying there is Argentine food and drink, wine, alfajores, yerba mate and crafts, plus the Duty Free at the bridgehead. In Paraguay, these are consumer rights under Law 1,334/98, enforced by SEDECO, and the invoice is the document that proves your purchase when you need to file a complaint or declare goods at Brazilian customs on the way back.
ler o guia →Yes: foreigners, including non-resident Argentines and Paraguayans, can buy urban property in Foz do Iguaçu under the same conditions as a Brazilian, with no limit on value or quantity and without having to live in Brazil. The only mandatory requirement is having a valid CPF. The restriction applies only to rural properties, which require residence in the country.
