Airports: 1,316 flights Sep 2026, 1.6× more in Foz do Iguaçu

The numbers are official data from ANAC (Brazil) and the Argentine ANAC. Arriving flights are aircraft that land at the airport bringing passengers. In the month, the Brazilian side received 1.6 times more flights than the Argentine side, indicating that most international tourism arrived through Brazil.

With 806 flights, Foz do Iguaçu airport handled 75,892 passengers, while Puerto Iguazú received 510 flights (passenger data not disclosed). This difference may generate higher demand for transfer services, lodging and food in the Brazilian city, as well as longer lines at check-in counters and baggage claim areas.

For those planning to visit the Triple Frontier, it is worth checking the flight schedule before traveling and, if possible, booking transfers in advance. Foz do Iguaçu airport usually offers more national and international connection options, making access to the region’s attractions easier.

What this means for you: if you prefer to arrive at an airport with higher flight frequency and more schedule options, Foz do Iguaçu is the more practical choice; if you want to avoid possible crowds, you may consider Puerto Iguazú, which has fewer arrivals.
