During the visit of the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State to Paraguay, two investment projects were announced.

The U.S. company Crusoe, together with the Paraguayan firm Araico, will install a data center near the Itaipu Hydroelectric Plant substation, in the border region between Brazil and Paraguay. The first phase, slated for mid-2027, will have a capacity of up to 106 megawatts, with the possibility of expanding to about 280 megawatts in the long term. The center will serve customers in the United States and Latin America through the Crusoe Cloud platform, being the first AI-dedicated deployment in the region, according to the company.

Separately, Uranium Energy Corp announced a US$12 million contribution to develop its uranium concessions on Paraguayan territory.

In an interview with ABC Color newspaper, an Araico executive said negotiations with the National Electricity Administration (Ande) are progressing.
