During a flood the status changes from one day to the next. Check each park's official channel before you go. Sources for this update: www.h2foz.com.br, clickfozdoiguacu.com.br.
9.536 m³/s is 6.4 times the historical average, a strong flood, a rare spectacle. Spray soaks the final boardwalk (poncho mandatory, protect your camera) and the park MAY close the boardwalk's final stretch for safety, an operational call announced same-day by the park itself. The trail's viewpoints stay open, and that's where the flood impresses most. Check official status before going.

Closures are rare and almost always due to a strong Iguaçu River flood, which shuts walkways or the Devil's Throat for safety. Rain does not close them, it just makes the falls fuller and full of rainbows.
We don't assert it's open: the park decides. Use the official channels.
The parks on both sides open every day of the year. They only close sections during a strong Iguaçu River flood, see the live river level on this page and confirm with the official source.
No. In the rain they stay open and get even prettier, with more water and more rainbows. Only a strong river flood shuts sections.
The Devil's Throat (Argentine side) is the first to close in a flood. Check the river level here and confirm on the official Iguazú Argentina site before going.
