Assembly of Christmas Decorations in Ciudad del Este

Preparations already underway in the capital of Alto Paraná
The City Hall of Ciudad del Este has begun assembling the first Christmas ornaments in the Republic Lake area and on São José Avenue. The mayor announced that the decorations will extend to other avenues, with an investment of G$ 3.5 billion.

The work started around Republic Lake, where the city has already installed the first Christmas decorations. The City Hall plans to expand the décor to Peru Avenue and Julio César Riquelme Avenue, aiming to cover different sectors of the capital of Alto Paraná.
Republic Lake will be one of the main points of the event, with installations designed to welcome families from Ciudad del Este, visitors from other regions of the country, and foreign tourists. According to the mayor, about 50,000 people gathered around the lake at the previous celebration.
The budget of G$ 3.5 billion will be allocated to the purchase of LED lights, spotlights, metal structures, panels, tubes, wires, welding equipment, and other supplies. The acquisitions will be carried out through two procurement processes: an open, multi-annual contract for 2026 and 2027.
The initiative, which began in December 2022 as "Sustainable Christmas," has evolved into "Christmas of the East," incorporating large-scale structures such as a traditional nativity scene and a giant Santa Claus. The goal is to establish a family-focused celebration and attract visitors during the year-end holidays.
The City Hall has not yet announced the official lighting ceremony date, but the mayor said the information will be released next week.
