New Rules for the Integration Bridge

Updated Documentation Requirements for Border Residents Drivers
Starting November 3, new documentation requirements will take effect for private vehicle traffic on the Integration Bridge in Presidente Franco. The rules differentiate the necessary documents based on the drivers' nationality and place of residence.

The changes were agreed upon at the Paraguayan-Brazilian Joint Commission meeting held on October 20 at the headquarters of the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service in Foz do Iguaçu. The goal is to update the circulation regime for Paraguayan and Brazilian citizens residing in the border towns.
For Paraguayan drivers residing in Presidente Franco, Ciudad del Este, and Hernandarias, a valid travel document (passport or ID) and the Border Neighbor Traffic Document (DTVF), issued by the Brazilian Federal Police, are required. Paraguayan residents of Foz do Iguaçu only need a travel document and proof of residence in Brazil, exempting them from the DTVF.
For Brazilian residents in Presidente Franco, Ciudad del Este, and Hernandarias, the requirement is a valid travel document and a migration residence document issued in Paraguay, with no need for a DTVF. Brazilians residing in Foz do Iguaçu must present a travel document and the DTVF, issued by the Paraguayan National Directorate of Migration.
All vehicle occupants, including minors under 18, must have the corresponding documentation. The light vehicle modality operates Monday through Sunday, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., and is exclusive to residents of the four mentioned cities. The traffic does not include motorcycles or the dispatch of goods, except for subsistence items under the Mercosur Agreement on Linked Border Areas. The baggage regime also does not apply.
The Paraguayan National Directorate of Migration stated that Brazilians residing in Foz do Iguaçu can apply for the DTVF in person at the Ciudad del Este Admission Office, located on Avenida Rogelio Benítez, near the corner with 4 de Mayo. The fee is G. 74.929 and issuance occurs within up to 72 business hours after the request. Paraguayan residents of the Paraguayan side should seek the Brazilian Federal Police in Foz do Iguaçu for the same document.
