The Ciudad del Este multiviaduct works have reached 70% progress and the viaduct structure is already completed, awaiting paving and the installation of expansion joints. Progress is being made on the access ramps, turnarounds, and collector roads despite recent rains that delayed some services.
The project, carried out by the Acaray-Tocsa Consortium under the supervision of a technical board with representatives from Itaipu and the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), has already completed the main structure of the viaducts. Teams continue working on the access ramps of the north and south viaducts, as well as on the turnarounds on the east and west sides.
In the work areas, retaining walls are being installed – a reinforced earth wall on the southeast ramp and a reinforced concrete wall in the southwest sector – in addition to earthmoving and drainage on the northwest and southwest collector roads. Sub-base preparation is also underway on the north collectors (Acaray side) and south collectors (Monday side).
In the kilometer-11 zone, the first phase of asphalt paving for the main detour plan is underway, while near kilometer 12 drainage work, earthmoving, sidewalk construction, and grass planting are being carried out on the collectors. The streets and avenues linked to the traffic detour plan remain fully operational.
