Electronic gates go into operation at Silvio Pettirossi Airport

Silvio Pettirossi International Airport now features electronic gates (e-gates), a technology that allows passengers to present their ticket and documents to electronic readers, automating verification and granting boarding access when everything is in order. According to Airport Director Daniel Báez Argaña, the goal is to simplify the procedure, reduce lines, and avoid crowds, especially during peak hours.

The rollout was carried out progressively with the airlines operating at the main terminal, and improvements have already been observed, although adjustments continue to be made to optimize performance.

In addition to the e-gates, Dinac plans further works: the construction of a new cargo terminal with about 9,000 m² of storage and 840 m² of administrative space, estimated to take 18 months, and the expansion of the cargo platform by roughly 22,000 m². The estimated investment for the new terminal is G. 124.000 million.
