Update (14 Oct): the Argentine park closed its Upper and Lower trails again on Wednesday as the river rose again.

The management of Iguazú National Park and the concessionaire Iguazú Argentina S.A. announced the park's reopening on Tuesday, 13 October, after closing all areas on Monday 12 with the river above 12,000 m³/s. According to the statement, the flow dropped gradually and trails reopen as the walkways are inspected.

What changes for visitors

  • Lower and Upper trails: reopened as inspections clear them. Check the park's official channel before you cross.
  • Devil's Throat: still closed since 3 August, with its walkways removed as a precaution. Its reopening does not depend on this flood.
  • The river is rising again: at the ANA gauge at the Falls, flow went from 10,015 m³/s at 7 am to 10,843 m³/s at 10 am on Tuesday, with a storm alert still in force. Another closure cannot be ruled out.
