Water and Lights Christmas 2026: Praça da Paz becomes themed village

The bidding process, published in the Municipal Official Gazette, aims to hire a specialized company for the rental of illuminated structures and scenic pieces. The terms of reference list 114 items, including a tree at least 11.5 meters tall, a sled, a gift box, a reindeer and a Christmas ornament.

The winning company will be responsible for transport, assembly, installation, testing and maintenance of the equipment. The opening and evaluation of proposals is scheduled for November 18 at 9 a.m.

The official opening of the event will take place on December 11. According to the director-president of the Cultural Foundation, Patrícia Iunovich, the plan seeks to transform the site into a space of renewal and hope.

The program includes participation by market vendors offering culinary and handcrafted products, as well as local artists, circus acts and theater shows. In partnership with Itaipu Parquetec and Itaipu Binacional, three Christmas parades will be held on Jorge Schimmelpfeng Avenue on December 18, 19 and 20 at 8 p.m.

Ahead of the celebration, the Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan will pass through Foz do Iguaçu on November 26 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., traveling up to 20 km with five illuminated scenic trucks.

More details will be released on the social media channels of the City Hall of Foz do Iguaçu and the Cultural Foundation.
